Dr. Qiang Zhang, founder of Dr. Smile Medical Group, recently visited Singapore to conduct a site evaluation for establishing a CHIVA Center for varicose vein treatment. This marks another critical step in the Group’s ongoing global expansion.
Understanding Singapore’s Medical Landscape
During the visit, Dr. Zhang was invited to the headquarters of OUE Group, where he met with Executive Chairman and Group CEO, Mr. Lee Soon. OUE Healthcare, a subsidiary of the group, operates a wide range of medical and eldercare facilities across China, Singapore, Japan, and Indonesia.
Dr. Zhang’s itinerary included in-depth tours of several medical institutions in Singapore, including clinics, surgical centers, and diagnostic laboratories. These visits laid a solid foundation for future collaborations between the two parties across Southeast Asia. Mr. Lee expressed strong interest in Dr. Smile Medical Group’s international strategy, and the two sides discussed promising opportunities for cooperation at both the local and regional levels.
Recognition from International Experts and Patients
While in Singapore, Dr. Zhang also met with renowned surgical expert Dr. Peter Goh, founder and president of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), and founder of the Advanced Surgical Group in Singapore. Dr. Goh expressed strong support for the CHIVA approach and Dr. Smile Medical Group’s international vision. He extended an invitation for Dr. Zhang to speak at the upcoming Asian Minimally Invasive Surgery Conference in Singapore, helping raise awareness of CHIVA among more regional clinicians.
Dr. Zhang also visited several Singaporean patients who had previously traveled to China for CHIVA procedures. They recalled their treatment experiences with praise, noting the professionalism and attentiveness of the clinical team. Their enthusiasm underscored the potential for a future CHIVA center in Singapore.
Entering a New Phase of Global Development
From New York to Singapore, Dr. Smile Medical Group’s global blueprint is steadily unfolding. This Singapore visit marks a pivotal moment in the planning and deployment of the next CHIVA Center. In parallel, the CHIVA Center in Tianjin, China, is nearing its launch, adding another node to the Group’s expanding network of international centers.
